Jake sat on the floor of his dorm shifting through the box of his Xbox games. His mom had sent it down and he had just gotten the games. She had sent every game he owns along with all his game platforms. Well, only two platforms. He owned a Xbox and DSi. Nothing exciting. It wasn’t like Shi’s collection of every Xbox and Wii game known to man. He had a lot and to be honest, Jake was a little jealous of his collection. Who couldn’t though? He had games of every kind and for every age. They were pretty cool.
He pulled out a letter that was in the bottom of the box. He gave the letter a curious look and opened the envelope and began to read.
Jacob –
Hope everything is going well and that you are coping with the change in weather. I know how hard it can be coming from a very cold climate to a very warm one. Don’t forget that we all love you. Take care and don’t forget to call us whenever you can. I worry about you.
Dad
They must have known he had been sick because his dad wouldn’t have written it anyway. Jake threw the letter to the side. At least they didn’t mention Ethan. That would have sent him over the edge. He would not have been very happy about that. He wasn’t very happy at the fact that his dad had called him Jacob. He hated that name. There was a reason why his went by Jake and Jake only. His parents never did catch onto the idea that’s what he wanted to be called. It didn’t matter, very few people here knew his name was Jacob anyway. Whenever he meet someone, he told them his name was Jake. He went back to the box and lifted out his Xbox. He went over to the TV and began to set it up. He knew how to do it by heart because he had disconnected and connected it from the TV on numerous occasions. He would take it between his house and Michael’s house where he would play with Michael when he moved out of the house. At first, it had been a pain in the ass to try and figure out how and connect everything. Once he had connected, he went over to his box, and pulled out Black Ops. He smiled and stuck it in the gaming console. He waited through the opening credits until he went online and played against some people. He wanted to get better to show Shi that he wasn’t bad at the game. As Jake played on, he remembered that he had invited Noah to play video games with him when he received them. Jake turned off his Xbox and looked at his side of the room. It was kinda messy… He quickly made his bed and through his dirty clothes under his bed into the bin of all the other clothes that still needed to be cleaned… He wasn’t going to bother cleaning his roommates side. There was no way his roommates would want that. Jake shrugged and left his dorm to find Noah. Jake left his room barefoot. He was only going a couple of feet to Noah’s dorm. Only then did he realized he didn’t know which dorm Noah’s was. He frowned and remembered there was a roaster downstairs with all the dorm numbers and who was in which dorm. He found the list and read over it. He found Noah’s dorm number. 105. He smiled and went back up stairs to the one hundred and fifth dorm room. He stood in front of it and knocked. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote] "Talking" "Other character"618 WORDSNoah TAGGED Clickie OUTFITtemplate by LISA@GBBS, lyrics by immortal technique CREDITNone besides this should be intersting... Noah sat in his dorm room on the floor with his bucket of Lego's. He had quite a large number of them from over the years. They were given to him when he was ten years old and he had collected more of more of them each year so that he made sure he would never run out. The bucket weighed quite a bit with all of the Lego's in it and he felt like it would almost fall apart while he was carrying it. Which would be bad, because tons of building blocks would go all over the place. Then he would probably even lose a few of them.
He sat cross legged on the floor and dumped a handful of them out onto the carpet and began building. The idea of it was something simple, such as a tower. But the tower itself wouldn't be plain and boring. Noah began building on it, starting with the base. Sadly, building stuff on carpet was very unstable and more of a chance that they would fall over. When all of the blocks on the floor were used up, he poured out more from the bucket and continued to build. Even Noah was smart enough to realize that his work-in-progress tower would never make it in the real world.
It wouldn't be stable enough and it really looked weird. And technically the coloring was off big time; the building blocks were red, yellow, green, blue, and white. Once the tower got higher, he had to get up on his knees to reach the top. As he was working on put a piece onto the tower, he heard a knock on the door and jumped. His arm knocked against the tower and it fell over before he could even think to react. The tower broke off in several places, but left mostly bigger pieces left together. It made Noah sad to see his tower had fallen already. There was one good thing about Lego's, though: they held together really well. Otherwise all the pieces would be all over the carpet.
After staring at it for a moment, he got up and carefully stepped over his fallen tower and headed towards the door. He was sure it was someone looking for one of his roommates, in which case he would have to tell them that they weren't there and that he also didn't know where they were at. Sighing, he grabbed the handle and pulled open the door. Noah came face to face with Jake, which really surprised him. He was sure his face showed it too. ”Hi Jake. Um... is something wrong?” That had to be the only reason he was there, right? He hesitantly opened the door a bit further. ”Do you want to come in?”

Jake stood in front of the closed door and heard a crash and then some mumbling. He was curious to what that crash and mumbling were. Jake slid his hands into his pockets as he waited for Noah to open his door. After another minute of standing in front of the door, it finally opened. The shock on Noah’s face was obvious when he saw it was Jake standing in front of the door. They had an interesting relationship to say the least.
“Hi Jake. Um... is something wrong?” He almost titled his head to the side when those words escaped Noah’s lips. Why would he think something was wrong? They seemed to be somewhat of friends right? Or at least Jake thought so. “Hey Noah. No nothing is wrong.”
When Noah asked if he wanted to come in, Jake shook his head. He didn’t need to go in to see if Noah wanted to play video games with him. There was no need. It would be awkward in there and his roommates could possibly be in there but he had never meet or seen them. Maybe he didn’t have any… Jake shook the thought away. “No it’s alright, I just wanted to ask you a question.” Jake looked up and down the hallway and he didn’t see anyone. He looked back at Noah who was looking at him really confused. “Remember the other night how I asked my mom to send my video games and then invited you to play them with me when I got them?” Jake hoped he remembered or else it would be pointless standing here barefoot right now asking Noah to play video games with him. Noah shifted a little and Jake saw Lego’s covering the floor. Ah, so he had been playing with Lego’s. Well those can be fun. Jake played with him a lot when he was younger but then Ethan took them when he was old enough to play with the smaller pieces. To the looks of the Lego’s laying on the floor, that had been the source of the crash when Jake knocked on his dorm door. “Well my mom sent my games down and I was wondering if you wanted to come over and play ‘em with me. I don’t want to invite you to do something and then not go through with the invite, that’d be rude,” Jake stood in the hallway hoping Noah would say yes because he wanted to get to know Noah a little bit more then what he already did. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote] "Talking" "Other character"426 WORDSNoah TAGGEDAbove ^ OUTFITtemplate by LISA@GBBS, lyrics by immortal technique CREDITNo notes from me this time NOTES [/blockquote]

“Hey Noah. No nothing is wrong.”
Noah felt relief as Jake confirmed that nothing was wrong. Although he didn't seem to be in much of a rush, so if he would have thought it through, then he could have confirmed himself that there wasn't. He was left still a bit confused though, when Jake also shook his head to coming into his dorm. Noah let go of the door handle and shifted nervously as he waited for him to explain why he had came over. He was a nervous person in general around people he didn't really know, but usually it was for different reasons. But perhaps he didn't have a reason to be nervous that way around Jake. There could be perfect explanations for the stuff that had been going on lately in the chat room, right?
“No it’s alright, I just wanted to ask you a question.”
He watched Jake check the hallway to see if anybody was around, which really made him want to hide. Wasn't that what people usually did in the movies before they were about to beat someone up? He didn't really get much of a chance to do anything, though as Jake started explaining what he wanted to ask. He was relieved a bit when he mentioned video games and thought back to the other night when he had talked to Jake in the chat room. Now that he mentioned it, he did remember them talking about that.
It had made Noah a little hopeful that perhaps Jake didn't hate him after all. He nodded in answer to his question – that wasn't the question he had come over to ask, right? It wouldn't really make sense if it was. But after he nodded, Jake was still there so he supposed there was more to it. So he waited until Jake continued explaining why he had came over to visit. Apparently the games had arrived and he was wondering if he wanted to play them with him. There really wasn't any reason that he couldn't go over and play with him. He wanted Jake to like him and he wasn't doing anything important right now either.
Noah nodded again. ”Sure, I would like to play them with you.” He turned to look back at his Legos on the floor; he couldn't leave them there, in case his roommates returned. ”I just need to clean up my mess first..” he said as he turned back to face Jake. Noah hoped he wouldn't mind waiting. He went back to his Lego's and began breaking the tower into smaller parts so they would fit into the bucket and then he started putting all the pieces into it. There weren't many since he only kept a handful out at one time. Finally he put the lid on it and returned it to it's place in the room. Noah picked up his pillow pet penguin that had been sitting beside him while he was playing with the Legos and turned to face Jake again. ”I'm ready..”

“Sure, I would like to play them with you.” Jake smiled when Noah replied. Maybe this would work out whatever problems they were having. It wasn’t the reason why Jake was inviting him over. They were kinda friends and he had already sent out the invite when Noah had convinced him to get his lazy ass off the bed and get his phone across the room. When Noah said he had to clean up his Lego’s, Jake said it was alright and waited patiently at the door for Noah to finish. Jake noted that he left about a handful of them out before putting the rest of them away. He wondered why that was. Maybe to play with them but it really was none of Jake’s business. “I’m ready…”
Jake noticed the long draw out of the word ready but dismissed it. Maybe he was just nervous. Besides, they didn’t really know each other but yet they did. Jake decided at that moment, they had a complicated friendship. “Alright, let’s go.Jake started down the hallway and stopped in front his dorm door. He opened the door and lead Noah inside. He looked around the room to see that his roommates part were still messy. “Sorry about the mess. I cleaned up my part of the room. I wasn’t even gonna touch their stuff. You can sit on my bed if you wonna. It’s clean, I promise.” Jake said. He had actually made his bed before he left to ask Noah if he wanted to play video games. For the first time he noticed Noah was carrying a penguin pillow pet. It was kinda cute and he recognized it because Emma had one before Jake left Alaska. It was the craze for everyone older and younger. A lot of the younger girls had them. Jake even knew of a couple girls at his old school that had them. He had to admit, they were cute. “That’s a cool pillow pet. My sister has one.” Jake said. Jake turned to the box and looked up to see that Call of Duty was still on. He frowned not sure if Noah would like that game. Whatever, he would play whatever Noah wanted to. He dragged the box over to where Noah was and sat on the floor with the box in front of him. “We can play whatever you want to play. Noah was glad that Jake didn't seem to mind waiting on him. He quietly followed him out of the room, turning out the light and closing the door behind him. They were just going down the hallway anyways, but he didn't want to leave his pillow pet behind. After the short walk down the hall, he followed Jake into his dorm. It would be the first time he had been in there, but he didn't know if it would be the last time. Noah was beginning to think he was the only person on campus that didn't have a TV to use. He could buy one, but he didn't really want to do that unless he had to.
Besides that, Shi had already offered to let him watch cartoons on his television. He also said he could go over and play video games. Not that he wanted to be a bother with that, but he didn't think that Shigemi minded, since he had sounded pretty excited when he offered. Noah did notice the mess, but he didn't mind. ”That's okay.” He cuddled the penguin in his arms and sat down on the bed. It was always awkward on the first few visits to a room that belonged to someone else. ”Oh, thank you. Is her pillow pet a penguin too?” He wasn't sure if when he said that, that he had meant his sister had a pillow pet or that she had a penguin pillow pet. Although any type of pillow pet would be awesome, in his opinion.
He wasn't so sure he should tell him that Shigemi gave it to him, because he didn't want him to get mad. So he decided to keep that part to himself. It was a nice compliment anyways, though. Noah noticed that Jake had been playing a game before he went over to invite him over. He wasn't sure what it was, but it looked like a shooting game. Those types of games were violent, so he didn't really care for them. But beyond that, he also didn't play them very well. The few times that he had played them, he had died a lot. The few times that he had even killed anybody had been pure accidental.
Noah watched as he pulled a box of games over to him and laid them on the floor. He was also offering to let him choose what game they played, so he climbed off of the bed and sat down on the floor so that he could see what was in the box. After looking through some of the games, he came across a racing game called 'Crash Time III.' He hadn't ever played it before, but it looked like it would be fun. So he held it up for Jake to see. 'How about this?”

Jake watched Noah cuddle with his penguin pet and then asked if her pillow pet was penguin or not. Honestly, Jake couldn’t remember. He tried to figure it out; he knew she had either had a frog or turtle but he wasn’t sure. Jake shrugged. “I don’t think so, I think she has a turtle or frog. I don’t remember.” Jake dragged the box over to Noah and watched him root through it. Jake noticed he didn’t even look at any of his first shooter games. He just went right past them to all the racing and strategy games. Jake tried not to frown when he picked out Crash Time III. He had played the game a few times. He tried to remember where he’d obtained the game but he couldn’t think of it. He knew it was a birthday. It might have been an aunt or uncle who gave him the game.
“How about this?”
Noah asked holding up the game. Jake shrugged and took it from his hand. “Sure why not. I haven’t played it in a while and it looks like fun.” Jake walked over to his Xbox and ejected his Black Ops game. He clicked it back in the case and set it next to the gaming system. “Shi and I played Black Ops once. It was fun.” Jake said just for conversation. The Xbox sucked in the game and he went back to the box to find his other controller. He rooted through the box and found it at the bottom. He placed it in the gaming console and handed it to Noah. He sat down on the edge of his bed and he waited for the game to get to the start menu. Once the game was on the start menu, Jake had the option between game play and racing. He chose racing because he knew that two people could play that one. Once he selected that, Jake choose his car and then waited for Noah to choose his. Once the cars were selected he pressed the ready button and they were placed on a random track through a city. On the screen, the numbers appeared and then disappeared. 3 – 2 – 1 – GO! Once the go appeared Jake was off. He was on the top half of the screen and Noah was on the bottom. He didn’t pay attention to Noah as he raced through the city. “Have you ever played video games with Shi? He’s really good.” Jake said to fill in the silence that was in the room. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote] "Talking" "Other character"426 WORDSNoah TAGGEDAbove OUTFITtemplate by LISA@GBBS, lyrics by immortal technique CREDITHope it's alright :3 NOTES [/blockquote]

”Oh, well a turtle or a frog would both be awesome too.” He thought any pillow pet would be, really. Even scary animals were made cute when they were stuffed animals. Noah didn't want to play any games that Jake didn't want to play, but he was sure that since he still had the game, that he must like it at least a little bit, right? And he had also said that he would play whatever Noah had wanted to play. But he supposed he could stick it out if Jake wanted to play one of his shooting games, if he didn't mind Noah losing all the time. He wasn't sure why anyone would mind that, though.
Noah let him take the game and nodded in agreement when Jake said that he hadn't played it in awhile and it looked like fun. Maybe that meant that it looked like fun to play now that he hadn't played it in awhile. Noah thought racing games could get boring after awhile, if you played them too often. They got kind of repetitive unless you played them online. That was how the game play got mixed up, because you never really knew what was going to happen. But he hadn't ever played online with people before. ”I've never played it before. But I've seen the previews for the game and I've heard people talking about it.” It seemed to be a popular game among most people.
Noah watched the disc disappear into the XBOX and then took the controller from Jake when it was handed to him. His fingers grazed the buttons as he looked down at it. It had been awhile since he had used any type of controller for a game console. Noah decided he would continue to sit on the floor, since that's where he liked to be when in front of a TV. It didn't matter whether he was watching shows on it or playing games on it, he just preferred to sit on the floor. He looked up when he heard the game starting up. Once at the start menu, Jake took the initiative to set everything up, which was fine by him. It didn't take long for him to find the car that he wanted to race with, but he had to take extra care to take a look at the stats rather than picking solely on the looks.
It got quiet, rather..more so than it was before, once the race started. Most of it was just because they were both concentrating, but that was broken once Jake started talking again. He kind of appreciated the break in the silence, though. Noah shook his head, but remembered that he wasn't looking at him so he couldn't see it. ”No, I haven't ever played video games with Shigemi before.” Shi had offered to let him go over any time he wanted to play games or watch television, but he hadn't taken him up on that offer yet. ”I'm usually bad at most video games.”

“No, I haven't ever played video games with Shigemi before. I'm usually bad at most video games.”
Jake nodded slowly concentrating on the game before him. He wasn’t sure why he had stopped playing the game. It was fun. Maybe at that time he was just out of the whole racing stage in video games. Jake bit the inside of his cheek trying to make a sharp turn and not wreck his car. He sighed frustrated that he had indeed wrecked the car on the turn. “Ah, you’re better than me right now. Shi is good at games. He beat me at Black Ops and I thought I was beast at the game.” At the moment, Jake crossed the finished line about thirty seconds after Noah did. Jake picked another track without seeing if Noah wanted to play another round or not. He glanced over and Noah seemed like he didn’t mind. Jake leaned against his bed with his arms propped up on his elbows. He held the control in front of him as the clock time ticked down again. 3 – 2 – 1 – GO! Jake pressed the gas button and he was off before Gabe. He smiled happy with his success. This track was through the middle of the rain forest. It was easier then the first one but the track was longer. Jake attempted to stay on the track as another sharp turn came up. “You seem to like this game.” Jake said as he started to his second lap. He wasn’t sure why he was talking but he felt like he should. He wanted to become closer friends with Noah and to do that, he had to talk. He wanted to bring up the whole thing with Shi but he wasn’t sure if he should do it now or later. Noah might be too distracted at the moment to talk about it. He’d wait a couple more races to see if Noah was less distracted. “C’mon,” Jake muttered as he was at the end of his third lap nearing the finish line. He didn’t like to lose and he didn’t want to lose to Noah. Only way to do that was somehow pull ahead. He could go for the whole punching or elbowing thing but he wasn’t sure if Noah would like that. So instead he went for the, “Dude, look out the window. There’s a sweet bird flying out of it.” Noah fell for it and Jake pulled ahead in enough time to win the race. Noah hadn't done a lot of stuff with anybody really. He needed to be more outgoing he supposed, then he could do stuff with other people. Such as playing video games with other people. He watched the screen as Jake talked, trying to keep ahead in the race. Noah never actually cared whether he won or he lost, he just liked to play the games. He didn't understand why some people got really mad when they lost. When the race had finished, he looked over at Jake who was still sitting on the bed. ”You and Shigemi are close, aren't you?” When he heard the clock counting down for another race, he turned back to the screen.
He nodded at his comment, once again forgetting that Jake couldn't see it, since he wasn't looking at him. So he spoke up instead. ”I like it. It's fun. I think racing games get repetitive, though.” That's why he could only play them so many times in one day without getting bored of them. When they were played online, the game play kind of switched up a bit. Especially if you were racing with people who liked to run others off the road. He didn't know if this particular game could be played online, though. Noah couldn't ever drive the cars in manual without losing, because he always forgot to pay attention to when he had to switch gears. When Jake mentioned a bird, Noah turned to look out the window. But there wasn't a bird there. He turned back to the game, only to realize that he had lost the race.
It was now that Noah realized that Jake had only said that to trick him and make him lose. But that didn't really bother him, since it was actually a smart idea. Noah laughed, not at all surprised that he had fallen for it. It would have been nice if there had at least been a bird to look at when he fell for it. ”Well now I've won once and you won once,” he told him. He looked down at the controller, wondering whether he should bring up his problem with him. Or whether, what he thought was Jake's problem with him. He wanted them to be friends, but he wasn't sure if that was going to happen until they sorted it out. ”Do you...” He bit his lip and looked up at him. ”You don't hate me, do you?” He wasn't really sure how to ask, so he figured that was a good starting place. Hopefully he said no.

“You and Shigemi are close, aren't you?” Jake looked down at Noah who was sitting on the floor with the game controller in his hands. Noah asked an interesting question. He had seen how close Noah and Shi were close. Jake thought it was interesting that Noah didn’t call Shigemi Shi. Jake thought all of Shi’s friends called him by his nickname. Actually, Jake called him Shi because he couldn’t pronounce his name; shhh, don’t tell him that.
“Yeah I guess. Shi came pretty much right after I did and I was his first friend here and he was mine. We just kinda clicked, ya know?” Jake looked at the controller in his hand. It was interesting to see the detail in the computer chips and the wires in the palm of his hand. It was interesting to see how small everything had become. He needed after hearing Noah’s comment. “I can’t play racing games all the time ‘cuz they do get repetitive; they can be fun though.”
They played the next race. It was the same track as before so all the turns were the same. It was pretty much predictable at this point. Turn left here, drive straight for about three yards, sharp turn right, drive through the city, drive through the fields. Rinse, dry, repeat. Jake smiled when Noah fell for the bird trick and looked out the window. That caused Noah to drive off the road and Jake won. He laughed silently and Noah looked down at his controller. “we both have won, one game.” Jake noticed that Noah didn’t look at him and it seemed like he was thinking about something. When Noah spoke, it took Jake somewhat by surprise. “Do you... You don't hate me, do you?” Jake looked down at Noah once again and thought this over. He was very surprised that Noah asked this. Just being around Noah for the little time he was, it seemed like Noah was very shy and didn’t like to speak his mind. Jake chewed over how to answer this. He liked Noah but when he, Shi, and himself were all in the chat together, he felt threatened by him. He felt like he was talking his friend away from him. Jake didn’t want that. He didn’t like losing his friends and family. It was something that just wouldn’t happen. He leaned forward, sat cross legged and put his elbows on his knees. The game controller was between his hands and he flipped it over. He pressed the start button to pause the game. “No I don’t hate you. I feel… threatened by you. Not in the you’re-going-to-beat-me-up kinda way. I feel like you’re going to steal Shi from me.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote] "Talking" "Other character"453 WORDSNoah TAGGEDAbove OUTFITtemplate by LISA@GBBS, lyrics by immortal technique CREDITThis is going to get inserting very fast NOTES [/blockquote]

Noah nodded understandingly. ”It's nice to get that first friend, isn't it?” The first friends were the ones you really wanted to hang onto, right? Usually they were the ones to accept you for who you were. Not to say that the friends are that aren't doing the same. In the movies, usually the ones after were trying to change that person somehow. But that was in the movies. ”I don't understand why they give you the choice to play so many laps. You would have to spend all day playing the game to finish a race with a lot of laps.” Noah liked video games, but he couldn't spend all day playing them. He just got tired of sitting there in one spot staring at the one thing for a bunch of hours.
Noah nodded again when he said they both won one game. That was fair, right? Jake didn't seem to be the kind of guy that got really mad at people when he lost at something. At least when he lost the first race he didn't get mad, but maybe for people who did get mad it got worse when they started losing multiple times. He didn't really know how it worked since he didn't care whether he won or lost. But there were times when he didn't like winning, which were usually if the person got mad that they lost or he was playing with someone who really wanted to win. Noah was surprised at himself that he had asked him that, but now he was afraid to hear his answer.
He had never actually had to deal with someone who didn't like him either. Especially not being stuck in their dorm, if they wanted to tell him. The more he thought about it, the more the room began to feel smaller and more confined. He didn't like confrontations, especially if the person was mad at him or just a mean person in general. Jake wouldn't have invited him over if he didn't like him, right? He didn't think he would be doing it for Shigemi's sake either. He watched as he got more comfortable on the bed and seemed to be thinking it over. He wanted to feel relieved when Jake said that he didn't hate him. But instead he said that he felt threatened by him, which didn't make Noah feel any better.
Nobody had ever felt threatened by him before, so this was completely new. ”You feel threatened by me?” he asked, looking back down at the controller in his hands. His thumb traced the green “A” button. He didn't want to steal Shi from him; did that mean he couldn't be his friend or anything? ”How would I steal him from you?” They were good friends, right? Maybe even best friends. He didn't think Shi would let that happen.

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER

“It's nice to get that first friend, isn't it?”
Noah asked. Jake would have to agree with that. He had several friends back home that he had to leave when he came here. It had been hard but he was friendly and people liked him so it hadn’t been too hard. He and Shi had hit it off right away. It was just one of those friendships that went off without a hitch. Jake thought meeting Shin the first time he met Shi in person helped with that. He’d have the twin brother to see him there and interact with him. Jake knew they would be friends as soon as Shi had started to poke him. “Sometimes the best friends are the people you first meet.” “I don't understand why they give you the choice to play so many laps. You would have to spend all day playing the game to finish a race with a lot of laps.” Again, Jake would have to agree. He wasn’t a very big fan of racing games. He was more of the first person shooter games. He’d play them if he had to or if someone else wanted to. “I think one lap would do it honestly.” “You feel threatened by me? How would I steal him from you?” Jake thought over this for a moment. He wasn’t sure how to answer this. He could tell that Noah was upset with his answer. To Jake, it’d be better then saying someone hated him. He didn’t hate Noah, not at all. He did like him and wanted to be friends with him. He just had to get the point across that he wasn’t allowed to steal Shi from him. Jake leaned against the wall, extended his legs and crossed his right ankle of his left. “Noah I do like you, I really do. I think you’re cool and really nice. I just feel like you are slowly taking Shi from me. I know he’s allowed to have more than one friend and everything. However, you…” Jake thought for a moment on how to continue with this. He wanted to be nice and he didn’t want to seem like he was attacking Noah. Jake didn’t think Noah would do very well if he seemed like he was being attacked. Jake chewed on his bottom lip for a moment before continuing. In the background he could hear the birds and the video game music. “…could steal him from me. I do want to keep him as a friend and I want to keep you as a friend. I don’t know, it’d just hurt to see Shi taken away from me. That’s pretty much all I’m saying.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote] "Talking" "Other character"450 WORDSNoah TAGGED OUTFITtemplate by LISA@GBBS, lyrics by immortal technique CREDITNOTES [/blockquote]

Noah's first friends technically were Shi and Jake. Or at least Shi. He wasn't sure if Jake was actually his friend; yet, he hoped. Noah wasn't the type to have a lot of friends, really. He had never had a lot of friends, but the ones he did have were usually good ones. Good for him at least. His standards were lower for friends than some peoples. He nodded in agreement; he had seen cases where peoples best friends were the first people they met. He hadn't ever actually had a best friend before, so he didn't know how that worked. ”One lap?” he asked, a bit surprised. Wouldn't one lap go by really fast? ”One lap on a long track?”
He guessed it didn't really matter. He was just nitpicking, really. Noah was a little relieved when Jake said that he liked him and that he was cool. Nobody had ever really thought he was cool before, that he knew of. Which it would be typical for him to not know something like that. Despite trying to understand Jake's point, he just really didn't get it. How could he steal Shi from him? ”I don't want to steal him from you,” he told him; the more the conversation went on, the more it upset him. But he supposed they had to figure it out so they could get along, right? Apparently they both wanted to be friends and it wasn't just him.
It would hurt to have any friend taken from you. Especially if they were close to you and you didn't have that many to begin with. He didn't know if Jake was like that. Jake kind of seemed like the more popular type to him. Not the one with a gazillion people that liked him but weren't actual friends, though. ”How can I be his friend without you thinking I'm taking him from you?” he asked, looking up at him. No matter how he thought it over, he didn't know how to fix it – but maybe Jake did. He hadn't even thought he was doing anything wrong, but it wasn't as if he had much experience with friends anyways. He was the one that wouldn't know what to do on a night out. Noah bit his lip when he just recalled something that Jake had said. ”Um. Did you... did you just say we were friends?” But he had to be sure he heard correctly.
