Mollie was happy to get out and go clubbing. She had to litterally drag Melany along. Ya her sister was still on crutches, but it was new years eve and they needed to get away. Though they had grown closer since the hurricane Melany was still a pain to dress and have her look half way decent when going out. Mollie found this so odd because they looked almost exactly alike and Mollie was always fabulous.
Mollie was looking SUPERB, in her tight mini dress that clung to her curves brilliantly and then she accesorized with any leopard print she could find... Well a fraction of it. Her hair hung down to her shoulders and was now dyed blonde... her nautral color.
After the hurricane incident Mollie had started carrying extra clothes. Anything really to keep her looking fresh. She hated how she had been found with running make-up and a BROKEN HEEL. She tried to forget that horrid moment. She couldn't believe she had ever looked that bad.
Her and Melany were walking over to the club. Mollie had offered to high jack a car. Not that Mollie was regularly compelled to steal cars, she was just giving her limping sister another option besides walking.
Mollie walked with Melany up to the door of the club. They talked about little things. They had a lot of catching up to do. They had been seperated for a while. The thing with Mollie was she was out for herself. There was no way she was going to hang around with a crip... Even if it was her sister. She wanted a certain reputation.
When Mollie and Melany got inside the club Mollie casualy floated away from Melany. Until she found her way in the middle of the crowd.Everyone was dancing and shouting and jumping. Mollie soaked it all in. This is what she needed. Mollie bagan to move with the crowd yelling the lyrics she knew and just letting the music move her with songs she didn't know.
Mollie was an okay dancer. Her moves a little awkward because of her height but other than that she was rocking. Her hair whipped around and she was in the groove. THen she spotted a boy... A man, and he was hot. Mollie scurried off to the rest room to fix her self up before she landed her a date for the night.
Mollie looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her make up needed a touch up. She pulled out her bright pink lip stick and put it on her lips finishing with a poping sound. Then she moved on to her eye shadow the same bright pink color. She put it on and once again she was fabulous.
Her hair she ran her fingers through. Her newly blond locks now were in slightly frizzed waves. She wet her fingers and ran them through her hair again. Better her hair was almost back to the way it was when she first arived. She fluffed the bow in her hair and made her way out the of the restroo. Her shest up and out, boobs of course leading the way.
She walked through the crowd. It easily parted it, beautiful people can do anything. Lots of people stopped and sared she was the center of attention, just the way it should be . Count: 563! ( WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IS ) i'd catch a grenade for ya ----------------------------- Another New Year's Eve was going by so fast, and another year was right behind it. Of course, this wasn't like other New Year's Eves for Eli, considering he wasn't in California anymore. He had to accept Shifter Academy was his home now, but it wasn't an easy fact to accept. Sure, he'd been shifting for a couple years now, but being in a school full of shifters wasn't exactly what he'd been expecting. What he'd been expecting though was a mystery to him, though he had hoped to find Melany straight away, his-- What exactly was Melany to him now? She had only been his adopted sister, and after years of not knowing that and having a crush on her...you could say Eli was confused on the whole situation, but confused didn't even cover it.
Eli finally finished unpacking all of his stuff, his roommate nowhere to be seen. He'd have to meet him eventually, but he sighed, content with holding off that meeting for a little while at least. Looking around his dorm room, his eyes took in the three beds, and the simplicity of it all. His room back in California had been just about the polar opposite, what with it having a sports theme for as long as he could remember. The room sure was different, but the weather at this Hawaiian school was about as homey as could be. It was nice to have something comforting, especially since he was the “new kid” here. Marissa had told him new students came in all the time, but he'd lived in the same city all of his life, he'd been pretty popular, even. Change wasn't exactly something Eli welcomed, but he'd named this school his new personal challenge, and he wasn't about to lose, if he could lose to an inanimate object, that is.
Throwing his duffel bag under his bed, Eli craved some normalcy. It wasn't that the school setting was different, it was just the fact that this was a school for PEOPLE WHO SHIFTED INTO ANIMALS. He'd lived in the human world for so long, having to fight to control his shifting, having to basically learn on his own, there was something odd about not having to hide it anymore. Restlessness surged through his body, and Eli quickly pulled on his shoes. He had to get out of this place, had to do something, needed to MOVE. Idleness wasn't exactly something Eli welcomed either, so he quickly left his dorm room in search of some form of entertainment. Walking off the campus, Eli listened to the rhythm of his shoes against the ground. He ran his hand through his mane of hair-- No. Mane of hair made him think too much of shifting, so he stuck his hands in his pockets and settled for wandering around. Many people seemed to be out and about, celebrating the idea of 2011 coming, and Eli just wanted to be one of them, even for a little.
His green eyes quickly settled upon what was named “Erosion Night Club”. The name piqued Eli's interest, and he hoped that this was some answer for his wish for normalcy. Entering the club, Eli's ears were quickly filled with loud music, drowning out all other thought. A smile graced his face, yeah, this was definitely something he needed. His brain wanted to just shut down all thoughts, just relax, party like all the other people here. He maneuvered his way through the crowd, feeling all the bodies press up against each other. This human contact was needed, he knew that normalcy meant being around other people. When he was alone, there was too much time for reflection, and with the bass pounding in the club, Eli quickly began to attempt to blend in. It wasn't exactly easy, what with him being so tall, but he just danced, and soon fell into the rhythm of the music.
Just as the name had piqued Eli's interest, something, no, someone else had too. Of all the places, of all the times, he was pretty sure he had found Melany. He moved through the crowd of bodies, closer to this blonde girl. It couldn't be, could it? Was it? Blinking, Eli tried to clear his head. Eli hadn't seen Melany in awhile, but hadn't she been...shorter? Did she hit a growth spurt? More confused than ever, Eli moved towards closer to the girl again, and said, loud enough to be heard, not quiet enough to be lost in the noise, “Melany?” Word count: 759 Credit: Me :D even if it's not the greatest~ Notes: n/a Clothes: Here.Tagged: Melany!

Melany had hobbled beside Mollie the entire way to Erosion Night Club, they had sort of talked. It was just small talk, and Mollie seemed hardly interested in what Melany was saying, but they talked...and that was a step in the right direction to Melany. They had grown closer after the hurricane...especially considering that Melany hadn't even known she was a twin, she hadn't even known she had a sister, let alone two. Melany thought back to how she met Macey, her older sister. They had met in the library, which is ironic, since Melany and Mollie had also met in the library.
It was a coincidence, Mollie hadn't even mentioned their older sister when Melany ran into her.
Melany paused at the door to the club, tearing herself away from her memories for a second. She didn't want to walk in, not on crutches...heck, she wouldn't have wanted to go in if she was in perfect health. Melany was, how most people would say, a wall flower. She liked to blend in. She didn't like, nor did she want, any kind of attention.
She looked down at what she was wearing, it was definately not normal Melany attire. She would wear something cute and light, something that would blend with other girls. But no, Mollie had decided to help with her outfit. She was wearing a short black and white striped skirt, converse that went up to her knees, a white tank that had a black heart on it, a superman jacket, and several bracelets (plus her crutches and a white bag with grey skulls on it). All in all, Melany wasn't what you could call comfortable.
She looked at the watch on her right wrist, which was covering her birthmark (the same birthmark that Mollie had, in the same spot).
8:57 PM, Melany thought, this is going to be a long night.
She sighed, and looked up from her watch, ready to follow Mollie into the club, find a nice spot on the wall, and just stand there. She really didn't want to be here, she'd much rather been in her dorm room reading about Zoey Redbird and her impending doom. But, nooooooo, Mollie just had to drag Melany out. She had said something about it being new years and how no sister of hers was going to stay inside on the biggest party day of the year.
"What the hell?!" Melany said to herself, ticked that Mollie had ditched her.
She rebalanced herself on her crutches and entered the club alone, determined to find Mollie and give her a piece of her mind. But, as soon as she walked in she was instantly surrounded by the atmosphere of the place. The feeling was that of an average club for highschoolers, filled with horomones and nerves. Melany didn't think it was possible, but she started to relax slightly in the environment. She had never been to a club before, she hadn't even been to a party before, so the experience was all new to her.
She walked awkardly between people, some dancing, some not, some standing just a bit too close for Melany's liking. She tried not to hit anyone with her crutches and she muttered small apologies to anyone she hit or bumped into.
Melany tried to pick Mollie out of the crowd, but there was so many people she couldn't tell which tall blonde was her sister, the dark lighting made it hard to see who was wearing what, or else she would have been able to pick Mollie out of the crowd easily.
She hobbled over to an empty spot on the wall, and scanned the room. When she noticed someone who looked slightly familiar, someone who seemed to be from a different life.
She squinted her eyes, trying to get them to finish adjusting to the dark. When she could finally see clearly, she knew who she had seen.
E.T.
Her broth--her friend from back in California. Her adopted brother. She wondered what they were to each other now, were they still considered siblings? Or were they now considered friends?
She set herself back on her crutches, and started to make her way toward him. And that's when she saw his lips form her name, but it wasn't her he was talking to. No, he had spotted Mollie first. Of course, who could miss her?
Melany froze, not wanting to look like an idiot, not wanting to erupt on her twin for ditching her, and not wanting to see E.T. again.
She started walking in the direction they were both in, she kept her face hidden as she passed E.T. She was behind him, and if she hadn't pushed some guy out of the way, she would have hit E.T. with her crutches and that would have been a disaster.
She tried not to make eye contact with Mollie, or anyone else for that matter, as she made her way to the bathroom. Once inside she had to blink a few times at how bright it was in there.
She sighed, and leaned against the cool wall. Talk about a twist.

"Melany?"
Mollie barely heard the name, barely processed what he had called her before the name floated away with the thumping of the music.
Mollie flipped her hair and let a persuasive smile grace her lips. She moved in close to the boy, even closer than they had been. They were close to the same height, her heels maybe giving her an inch on him. But mollie was okay with that, she has had to work with her exsessive height before.
"No, Hun, I'm Mollie," She placed her hand on his arm. He was quite muscular, this made him even more of a catch. Mollie leaned into one hip, her smile unfaltering. This was going to a breeze.
"You look like your new here, I could help you look around." Mollie let her bag fall down her arm. She stared into the boys eyes.... He was quite handsome.
Then she noticed Melany moving through the crowd. How could she not. Her sister was bumping every other person in the crowd with her crutches. She didn't even really need the things. She was just being cautious. Mollie sighed and rolled her eyes. Her some what lame sister could do what she wanted, Mollie was doing good.
"I haven't been her too long but I know my way," Melany came up right behind the boy getting ready to hit him with her crutches. There was no way Mollie was explaining the whole twin thing, not yet. She didn't want the boy to associate her with her awkward, slightly fashion challenged, twin. There fore Mollie pulled him into her, really close. Now she could feel his breath on her and that was SEXY. "Around."
Mollie let out a laugh. A giggle really. She grabbed a hold of his wrists and started to pull him into the crowd. "You should come dance with me." Mollie figured her sister, though she 'loved' her, was not going to be doing much dancing tonight. Her and her dumb crutches anyways.
The two of them were now in the middle of the crowd. The music surrounded them and it was soooo cool. The beat of the music pounded in Mollie's chest and it made her want to dance. She bounced up and down with the beat of the music her hair falling around her face. She was pretty hot, she was looking good.
Mollie chewed on the inside of her cheek, wondering if she was loosing him. She didn't want to loose his interest. Maybe he didn't like to dance. Mollie remembered she still had a hold of his wrists. She held tighter and pulled him in real close. But it felt like the crowd was closing in on them. She looked him in the eye and smiled.
"You've got my name, So, what's yours handsome."

( WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IS ) i'd catch a grenade for ya ----------------------------- Was there ever a worse mistake? There was no way Melany would have grown so much in such a short time. Why hadn't he thought of that? It was definitely embarrassing, but Eli now knew that there was someone who looked almost exactly like Melany on this island, though he was unsure of what he would need this information for. He had to admit though, even if Mollie wasn't who he had thought she was, it was nice to actually be on about eye level with someone.
“My bad,” Eli said, hoping she could hear him. “You just look EXACTLY like my adopted-- I mean, this girl I know.” It was like Mollie was a taller carbon copy of Melany, really, and Eli felt bad for mistaking them. Melany had been his SISTER, for Pete's sake, he should have known that this wasn't her. He didn't though, and he just had to shrug it off. There wasn't anything he could do to change what had-- What was she doing? Eli looked down at Mollie's hand on his arm, remembering how many girls had done the same thing. He looked from her hand to her eyes, and they looked like the same color as Melany's. Whatever was going on, there was some little voice in the back of Eli's head that was saying he needed to just let go, relax, maybe have a good time. He flexed his muscles a tiny bit, flaunting how “macho” he could be; he didn't want to seem like a stick in the mud or anything.
The lion inside of him was almost purring at the idea of having some good clean fun, maybe dancing. How many years had Eli liked Melany? It was around four now, and it was like a weight holding him down. Maybe he COULD let it go, just for awhile, and Mollie was pretty cute plus, he didn't have to completely let go of Melany if he was with her. As Mollie pulled him closer, he replied, “Really?” with a slight smile. He hadn't relaxed in awhile, especially since his parents had always pushed him. Being a teenager REQUIRED him to do so, and he let Mollie pull him towards the center of the dance floor, though he didn't consider it like he was being led. No, he wasn't letting Mollie pull him, he was going with her.
It had been four years though, and Eli couldn't even temporarily forget Melany. She was in his pride, his inner circle, and you couldn't just leave that. Looking backwards, Eli thought he saw something familiar, someone blonde, but he turned back to Mollie just as quickly as he had looked away. He didn't want to seem rude, and he wasn't just thinking that to be polite. Eli could be rude if he wanted, he could walk out of the club right now, but he didn't want to give into that slight slight slight urge. The music was still pounding, and it was more of a distraction now than it had been. His head felt muddled, but he tried to dance to the best of his ability.
She smiled at him again, and he gave a slight one back, not wanting to seem too interested, but not wanting to seem bored or anything. “I'm Eli,” he responded, adding the -zer in his head. There were times where his name sounded WAY too old-fashioned, and this was one of those times. Eli just fit him better. Eli was...sexier. Mollie was still pressed up against him, and he came a little closer, too. “You look really hot tonight,” Eli said, the music seeming to surround them. “Just like Mel,” came hurtling out of his mouth, and he felt his eyes widen a little. You DEFINITELY weren't supposed to talk about other girls if you were dancing with a different one. “I'm gonna go get drinks,” he added, trying to avoid any possible anger, and went off in the other direction, wondering what exactly just happened. Melany set her crutches against the wall, and slowly slid to the floor. Something about this, about E.T. being there, about Mollie talking to him, something about all of it was too much for Melany. She didn't want to be there, she wanted to be in her dorm on her bed reading her book.
Her book! Melany reached into her bag, and pulled out the book she was currently reading, Hunted by P.C. and Kristina Cast. Reading would give her something to do, and would get her mind off of E.T. and Mollie.
Melany pulled her knees to her chest, rested her back against the wall and opened her book to the part she was at. She tried to read. She wanted to read. She needed to read. But after a while instead of reading "Erik" did this or that she read "E.T." did this or that. Melany blinked, frustrated at herself for not being able to get lost in her book like usual.
She closed her book, and breathed slowly in and out. She looked down at her right leg, the one that had been crushed during the hurricane. A sad smile hit her lips. She smiled because it was healing, but she was sad because it had been healing for the past 6 months. She was supposed to stop using her crutches today, but she didn't want to risk hurting her leg again. She was scared. She hadn't been able to swim or surf or really do anything but read and sit in her room for the 6 months her leg had been healing. She didn't want to end up hurting her leg again. Better safe than sorry.
Melany blinked with the realization that her leg had distracted her from thinking about Mollie or E.T. And then she mentally slapped herself in the face for thinking of them.
Fine, she thought as she put her book back in her back and awkwardly got up from the floor, if I'm going to be so...consumed by thinking about E.T. and Mollie and everything I might as well confront them...or atleast confront Mollie for ditching me....and it would be nice to see E.T....well atleast see him and actually talk to him.
Melany held onto the wall for support, she grabbed her bag, and decided that she would try walking without her crutches. She had most of her weight on her left foot, and she slowered put some of it on her right leg. She was expecting it to hurt right away, like it had the last time she had put weight on it. But it didn't hurt, actually it felt almost normal...slightly weaker but normal.
She picked up her crutches, no longer thinking she needed them, and put them in a back corner of the bathroom, out of sight.
She walked slowly out of the bathroom, and had to wait again for her eyes to adjust. Once they did she had no trouble finding Mollie this time, she stood out even though she was in the middle of all those people. But when she saw E.T. with her, pushed against her, something inside her snapped. She didn't know why, but she was suddenly very jealous, and she didn't want Mollie anywhere near E.T.
Without thinking she started to push her way through the crowd, she wanted to give Mollie a piece of her mind. She wanted to tell her how much of a jerk she was for ditching her, and she wanted to scream at her for flirting with E.T.
But, when she realized what she was doing, she stoppped. And she was glad she did, she changed directions and headed toward where the drinks were. She needed to cool down and collect her thoughts, and she didn't want to hide in the bathroom all night.
As she was heading toward the drinks, she bumped into someone, she turned to apologize and then keep walking. But then she realized who it was she had bumped into.
"E.T.?"
|
Melany said the name barely loud enough to be heard, barely louder than the music. It was like a weird dream, seeing E.T. there, and not seeing Mollie by him yet was even better. She smiled, glad to see her brot--friend again. Maybe coming out had been worth it.

( WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IS ) i'd catch a grenade for ya ----------------------------- For as long as Eli had been in the club, it seemed like most of his actions simply came with regret. From mistaking Mollie for Melany and then letting his impulsive words get the better of him, things weren't exactly going Eli's way. If things were going his way, he would have seen Melany instead of Mollie, been calm and cool and collected, and most of all, he would have been...happy. It had definitely been awhile since he'd seen Mel, but if there was one thing he could remember about their time together, as siblings, he forced himself to remember, it was that he was never really upset.
Taking a deep breath, Eli continued to walk ahead to get drinks, and walking farther away from Mollie. The farther away he got from the dancing crowd, the more his head was clearing. Damn, though! Where Melany was sweet, Mollie was definitely sexy, and because he was a teenage guy, sexy and sweet were definitely close right now. Really close.
When Eli reached the bar of sorts in the club, he ordered two Cokes, not quite sure what Mollie would want or anything, he had just met her, after all, and he himself just felt like some good old caffeine needed to enter his system. After opening his can, he immediately took a drink, feeling the carbonation on his tongue. He glanced towards the dance floor, and took purposeful steps to get there, at least, he was taking those kinds of steps before someone ran into him, spilling a little bit of his soda on the floor.
“Hey! Watch where--” he began, then stopped as soon as he saw it was Mel. Oh my God. She was there. She was really there. He heard her say his name, but she was all he could focus on, not specifically her voice, definitely not the music pumping around them, not the rushing of blood to his cheeks as he realized he almost snapped at her. If he had continued his sentence, man, he didn't know what he would do. In an attempt to redeem himself, he smiled broadly, and exclaimed, “Mel!” Call it instinct, or even chicken salad, but before he realized what he was doing, he hugged her, lifting her into the air some, too, with the cans still in hand. When he let her go, what he did really hit him, and he wondered what she would think. He didn't even know what to think, honestly. Was that brotherly or did it convey how he felt about her? Melany couldn’t believe her eyes, it was E.T. he was really there. It was him, and he recognized her. And suddenly she was in the air, being embraced by E.T. She looked in his green eyes, he seemed so happy, and she knew the same emotion was reflected in her own. Something about seeing E.T. here and being able to talk to him made her feel complete again. She didn’t know why this was, she just knew that it felt right.
When he set her down she saw the look of uncertainty in his eyes, it had been a long time since she had seen him, and he seemed different. He seemed taller, his eyes had a different tint to them…like those 6six plus months had changed him, matured him.
She hugged him back, glad to see him, glad that seeing him and talking to him had given her a high that made everyone and everything else disappear.
“E.T.! Man, you don’t know how great it is to see you here! I missed you!!!”
She didn’t realize how un-sisterly that could be taken, and she was still hugging him. She let go of him, and when she did it felt like she had left part of herself with him and she wouldn’t feel complete until she hugged him again.
“How’s mom an-er…how are your parents?” She fumbled, trying to make good conversation. She doubted he could hear her over the suddenly louder song the DJ had put on. “Wanna go somewhere we can talk?” Without waiting for his answer, she grabbed E.T.’s hand, deciding for him, and lead him out the door to the cool night air.
Melany wrapped her arms around herself and shivered, she was wearing a jacket but it felt colder. She decided to walk a few paces from the door, enough so that their conversation could still be considered private. She slid to the ground, her arms still wrapped around herself, her purse at her side. She put her head against the building and breathed in the chilly December/January night air. Melany checked her watch, 9:59PM. Time had flown, it had been an hour since she had arrived and she had hardly done anything.
Someone opened the door and she the music from inside come pouring out with them, she closed her eyes and breathed deeply, for some reason she felt nervous and unsure about E.T. and her’s relationship.
Deciding to get to the point, Melany said, “Okay, so, E.T., are we still siblings or are we friends or what? Because this whole situation has confused me.” Melany added a laugh, and messed with her hair as her dull blue eyes lit up when she made eye contact with him.
One thing she had missed about E.T. was his deep green eyes, but, then again, she had missed everything about him. And that scared her.
